P365 Weight Loaded - Have you ever heard of a gun revolving around a magazine? Well, now you have a Sig Sauer P365. By the way, the 365 in the gun model name is 365 days in a year, and you can hide a new gun every day. Let's take a closer look at it in this Sig P365 review.

Sig has spent a lot of time developing a new proprietary, patent-pending narrow-neck, modified double-stack mag that can easily carry ten rounds. They did this by creating a pistol that was smaller and lighter than other pistols in the sub-compact category and called it a "micro-compact".

Check out its specifications and features. Compared to a subcompact Glock 43, for example, the P365 has a shorter barrel of .29″; is 0.02 inches smaller in width, 0.46 inches shorter overall length, and the P365 has ten rounds versus six for the G43. Compared to the Springfield XD-S, the P365 is 0.10 inches shorter in height, holds three more rounds in the magazine, is 0.5 inches shorter in overall length and weighs 5.2 ounces less. The P365 is slightly wider than the M&P Shield and Ruger LC9S, and they hold seven rounds each. Sig should be proud of its new hybrid stomach design and its high capacity. So how does the Sig P365 9mm sub-compact compare to the Sig 938 9mm sub-compact?

I was lucky enough to get one of the first P365s to review and photograph for testing and evaluation, so I'd like to share my findings and thoughts. Thanks to Sig Sauer for the opportunity to review it in detail. I hope my thoughts and conclusions will give you some details so you can make up your own mind. I will provide you with its specifications and special features and then analyze them in depth to help you.

As most people know, Sig Sauer has a solid reputation for making quality rifles, but what about this new mag design and this small, lightweight, assault-fired double micro compact 9?

My article comparing 14 other subcompact 9mms was published earlier on this site and of course did not include this new P365. In my latest book, Concealed Carry and Pistol Accessories, I carefully analyze, compare and rank 21 of the best concealed carry pistols, including compact and subcompact 9mm pistols. Well, I want to give you some details about this new P365 so that you can compare and evaluate it. Below, I'll go over the P365's key specs and some of its features, then compare them against my criteria. I compare it factor by factor with some criteria and features here.

Sig Sauer did not pay me for this article, for my opinions, or to influence me to say anything about this or that gun. I want to be honest and straight forward, how I see the gun to help people from the bottom of my heart. In particular, I would like to share with you the P365 test and evaluation feedback. Watch the video below for a brief introduction to the Sig P365 by its product manager, Phil Strader.

First, I want to outline the specifications and features of the pistol for you in the Sig Sauer P365 review. Next, I provide ten criteria that I use to evaluate all rifles. When evaluating your gun, determine your goal, purpose and criteria in advance. If so, compare the available weapon options individually against each criteria, comparing apples to apples, not oranges frankly. Finally, I would like to give you my analysis of each of my criteria and my final recommendation for buying a P365, regardless of its use. As always, define your criteria, determine your goal or use for the gun, do your research, and compare the attributes of that gun to your predetermined criteria. Please check my information and information with yours and shoot this gun yourself before purchasing.

At this point I was wondering if there are any special holsters and accessories for the new Sig Sauer P365. Yes, Blackpoint Tactical has developed custom carry holsters for the P365 as part of a partnership with Sig Sauer. Blackpoint Tactical offers the Attachment Inside Waist (AIWB) and Standard Outside Waist (OWB) APX holsters for it. AIWB Kydex holsters use a Tuck Strut to force the gun closer and less pressure against your body. It retails for less than $80. The OWB Kydex holster features metal eyelets, strap options, a turnbuckle for adjustment, and a slim profile. It also retails for less than $80. Both are custom built holsters for the P365.

Klinger Holsters offers a Kydex and leather hybrid OWB holster, the V2 Ultra-Conceal holster. It converts to an IWB holster, opens wide for easy reloading, and pulls the gun close to the body for less pressure. Essentially, you get two holsters for the price of one. It retails for less than $60. Klinger Holsters also offers the V2 Stingray IWB holster with adjustable straps, a wide opening for reloading and a large channel. This particular piece of equipment retails for less than $40.

Here are just ten of the criteria and factors I use. So I will use them to review the Sig Sauer P365. In addition to my criteria, some subjective characteristics may appeal to some. For example, added extras such as specific style, mag release location, performance, caliber, appearance, number of magazines included, sights/mods, barrel axis, rail, grip angle, non-ported or ported, holster and case, and customer service. appear So I added them to the last criteria.

I have to admit that any gun selection decision involves trade-offs, but I want a gun that meets all the criteria. I added 10 points to each of the ten scoring criteria to get a total of 100 points. You can of course add additional criteria and preferences, or mine.

Realize that there are a number of functions, features, pros and cons and personal criteria to include and take into account and you make your own based on your preferences, preferences, specific needs and use.

I wanted to shoot the P365 and fired about 250 rounds to test the range. For this review I shot:

This variety of shooting gave me a feel for how well the P365 can handle different grains and types of grain. The P365+ is rated for P photography, but I didn't shoot one for this review. Normally I shoot 500 rounds in a few days whether I want to carry the gun or not, but after shooting about 250 rounds I had the information I needed. I will take more pictures to confirm my initial assessment. Below are my scores for each of the ten criteria for my concealed carry purpose. I put the rifle through its paces and thoroughly researched what worked and didn't work with various JHP and FMJ rounds. Thank you for submitting your review of the Sig Sauer P365 Sub-Compact 9mm Pistol. I bought Speaker Lowman myself.

Hellcat Pro Osp Vs. Sig P365 Xl

When I first picked up the P365 it was very light at 17 ounces, and I could tell it had typical Sig quality fit, finish and solid machined parts. The slide slid very easily, it had rounded edges, and the small 1 inch wide and 4.3 inch height made me realize this would be a good option for concealed carry.

Of course, a distinct advantage of the P365 is its "modified" dual-lens magnetic ten-round adhesive. Some call this innovative hybrid mag design a "semi-double" magnet. This magnet has solid, vertical shocks and the cartridges are narrower than allowed for displacement. For reliable feeding, the top two rounds form a single vertical stack column, one above the other in a vertical line. I was impressed by this feat of technology. Works well for more capacity; 10 rounds +1 in the chamber. Additionally, there are 12 additional rounds sold separately for even more capacity.

I expected a heavier feel from this lightweight sub-compact, short 3-inch barrel and its micro-compact frame. But while it was a bit stiff, it was easy to handle with a very tight grip and a locked wrist. My wife was able to control it well with the reduced arm. Heavier loads helped with silence and we liked both 115 grain FMJ rounds for better control and accuracy in this little gun. However, this is a self-defense gun. Practice! The P365 felt good in my average hands, and it felt good in my wife's small (but beautiful) hands.
